Last night out of the blue my bestfriend messaged me and we decided to have a reunion and meet up for a coffee or a bite to eat. When work and life manages to drag you down and keep good friends apart having a reunion can really bring sunshine to your life...
During work I kept looking at my watch wanting the time to go faster for my work day to end so I go see my friends.
Once the clock hit 9 I walked out the door and even though it was raining my spirits couldn't be dampened. I saw my girly mates from a mile away and kept smiling. We stood outside my workplaces door trying to work out if the coffee shops were still open and if we would rather eat or have a hot chocolate instead. My tummy rumbled and I knew where we were going, the plan was to to go hot choclate and instead we hada spicy doner...It was amazing I enjoyed the food but I must admit I loved the company more. We talked about where I lives have taken us in the last few months we've spent apart.
There was stories of my engagement preparations, a proposal that one friend decided to reject (the guy happened to be shorter than him so it wasn't the best match) there was then the talk of work life and how boring and repetitive it can be.
Being able to seperate even just an hour together with my friends made my day and all the months that we spent apart seemed to disappear. Close friends should always be cherished because they bring sunshine and warmth to our lives.

Sunshine in friends
Once again my blog includes a little ray of sunshine from work. Having a nice close knit environment at work, makes me feel like I'm surrounded by friends that we are a big happy family...
The other day I was feeling a little bit down because I was feeling a little bit left out from all the chit chat and was feeling a little bit paranoid.
At work there are a few girls that are my age and after a little heart to heart with one of them I realised that our relationship had changed. We went on break together and we talk about life, all the guy stories we have, all the things we want to do for new years eve and just having a proper laugh. We have a few jokes and a laughs and now we are a lot closer.
Having the confidence and strength to confide in a someone can make you so much closer and you begin to find alot of things in common. Having a friend turn into a close friend can really brighten up your day, because the people in your life and all you friends bring colour and sunshine into your day to day life .

Sunshine in good news
Sometimes when you hear good news you can't help but be happy, even when the good news doesn't affect you at all...
I know a lovely girl from America she's kind of like a pen pal. We email and stay in touch, sometimes we send letters on Christmas and new year. In a weird way we've never met but we get along so well.
She was mentioned in one of my previous blogs when I found her present she sent me one Christmas and putting a smile on my face. Well I've known her at her best and at her worst....to finally hear some good news from her made my day. Finally all the good she does has paid off and she was lucky enough to find a guy that makes her smile and laugh the way she deserves to be treated.
Hearing that other people that you love and care about are having good luck and fortune can make you feel good too. The sunshine in their day can bring sunshine to your day as well. We shouldn't be jealous and envious of the good things that happen to others but be happy for them and hope that good things might come your way too.

Sunhine on the sales
I hate to admit it but most of my blogs these days seem to be around work and the store I'm in...all my blogs seem to include shopping, buy,or sales. For this I probably should apologise, but in a rather sad kind of way, my life does revolve around my job in a retail store. Today the store is on a 'up to 50% off sale' which lets be honest is pretty deceptive(but lets put that aside for now) the sale being om the lower ground floor while I work in the foods department on the first floor. Well today as I was on my way to my break as I went downstairs I had my first encounter with all the lovely sale stuff. I saw all the Christmas cards on sale, the cookbooks, and the calendars notebooks and organisers...
I've had my eye on the organisers for 2012 and had been waiting for them to be a bit more reasonable in the finance department-times can be tough sometimes and your purse strings are pretty tight. So here I saw my chance and had a quick rummage through the organisers and that's where I saw this pink metallic 2012 diary. I opened it up and had a flick through the pages and realised it was what I like to call a 'proper diary' the kind you write stories and the goings on of your life, this wasn't just a '9 o'clock doctors appointment' 'call nan after work' kind
of diary.
Looking down at this diary I couldn't help but want to buy it but had that horrid feeling in the pit of my stomach, the kind you get when you watch an animal programme and deep inside you want one, but know after a couple of months you'll lose interest and never look after it. Well that's the feeling I had as I put down this beautiful diary and decided to get a 2012 planner/diary instead.
This feeling of sadness had a bit of silver lining and made me want to work that little bit harder to update my blog more often, and hope that I may get the confidence to buy the lovely diary before the new year and have it be my new years resolution to keep a diary, because I really do get the feeling that this year will be a really important turning point in my life. This are really looking up for me in the love/relationship aspect of my life, my work/career aspect of life also hopefully going somewhere this year or next since I've finally graduated university/college and family life being on a nice stable level.
I've realised that I've started rambling and seem to be going on a tangent and missing the sunshine completely. But my point today, is that sometimes the bad feelings that you get when your unsure about your ability to do something, can actually lead you to work harder so that maybe next year you will be able to do it. That there is always a silver lining in everything. You just have to look.

Sunshine after Christmas
I'm hoping that all the craziness of Christmas is over. The rushing around we did on Christmas eve to get the present we forgot to get that person. The Christmas day unwrapping presents and spending the day surrounded by family. And now boxing day where we have all winded down and recovered from the hangover from the office Christmas party.
I do wish that everyone had a great Christmas holiday and found a little bit of sunshine in your lives. My little bit of sunshine is how much I enjoyed being around family and my almost inlaws.
I spent Christmas with my brother watching our favourite sitcom laughing the whole day. Today I spent my day with my boyfriend and his family and felt like I belonged there. Feeling like one of the family brought sunshine to my day and made me smile and wish that I spend the rest of my life feeling like I belong and a part of the family.

Sunshine in card shopping
Everyone is going Christmas crazy, but there are some that still want to continue living their lives as normal, and the thing that made me smile was a customer today who was shopping for a card...
Lets be honest in the build-up to Christmas everything seems to be cranberry sauce, turkeys and chestnuts that's not to mention the wrapping paper, stocking fillers and Christmas cards. The only problem is that to make room for all these wonderful Christmas things some things need to be cut out and less is stocked in store.
Today she was looking for a birthday card for her 18 year old nephew and I have to say that the selection was pretty bad. there was only one card left that said 18 and that was a pink hello kitty card. No where had cards there was soo little choice that I couldn't help but laugh.
All the craziness of Christmas makes you think...The people that stock the shops for Christmas don't seem to realise that we all don't want to eat brussel sprouts and roast potatoes everyday or buy Christmas cards every day of the week...we also have birthdays to plan, stir frys to cook and the little things that you need everyday.
Hopefully once all the Christmas preparation is over we can continue to our everyday lives where the shop shelves were filled with everyday food for everyday life.

Sunshine in a smile
When you have been in work for 7 hours its really hard to smile sometimes...your body is tired, your head is buzzing and your often put under pressure to finish before the shop closes. It can be really draining and hard to find something to smile about...
I'm rather lucky to work in a store which really just feels like a bunch of friends working togetherto keep the store up and running. I have my special someone working with me, my almost mother in law and the girls that are well-my girls.
This always makes me smile knowing that whenever I look up theres the chance of seeing my special someone stick out his tongue or having a cheeky smile from one of the girls as they steal my ladder.
Today I had a customer comment on my smile and told me "whenever I come in I see you always smiling and looking cheerful"
I can help myself...when I'm at work surrounded by friends you'll see me smiling as I fill up shelves and make the aisle look tidy and the closest thing to perfect I can get it.
Always smile, it brightens your day and puts a smile on someone else's day. Spread the sunshine and joy.

Sunshine in Christmas shopping
Shopping, something you do most weeks of the year but for some strange reason when you go Christmas shopping is just soo much more different...I don't know why but Christmas shopping is better than any other kind of shopping.
With me I like to put thought into my presents, I take time when picking them out and I like to get presents that are useful...not just for Christmas.
Shopping for other people is just nicer to do because the whole time I'm shopping I enjoy myself. I keep in mind the image of how much they will smile when they unwrap my present I picked out with care and how happy it will make them.
I hope that every one gets a presents that has meaning and was picked with love from people that care.

Sunshine in mother and daughter
There is something about the bond between a mother and daughter that is just soo special...
No matter how old I am, my mum is always looking after me. She makes sure I've had a good dinner when I come home from work. She notices when I have redder cheeks than normal and checks my temperature to make sure I'm okay. It's this kind of love between two people that makes me smile and makes me appreciate what I have and I hope that all you lovely people have a nice bond with your loved ones, whether it's a mother who loves you a father who looks out for you, a sister who you can't live without or that best friend who is always there for you in your darkest hour.
Appreciate the loved ones around you and make them smile.

Sunshine in children
I'm sure everyone has noticed that my blogging has recently declined. I honestly can't seem to find the time to sit at a laptop and blog about my day, to blog about the things that make me smile, the things that bring sunshine to my day and I'm sorry about that and will try very hard to blog that little bit more often....
Here is the cutest thing that made me smile...Now that all the crazyness of Christmas shopping has began it is hard to find something good among all the madness and stress.
While I was putting bags of apples on the shelf I had a little look round the shop and saw one of the ladies at the til saying "goodbye gawjuss" to the most cutest curly haired little boy in the store...and the next few words that came out of his mouth made me smile for the rest of the day...
He turned back as he was walking away and simply replied,
"I'm not gawjuss, I'm Cameron"

Sunshine in a weekend off
Sorry about being gone for soo long. Sometimes just having a weekend off can make you smile...
I've had a very very long week. I walked into work one day and a work friend needed to have the weekend off and have a break. Everyone else said no...But I couldn't do it, I wanted to see her smile so I said to covering her Sunday...I thought why not I've got the next Tuesday off that I won't have to wait long for my break...
There was only one flaw in my plan...
Turns out the following week was not my Tuesday off and I would have to work a whole week til I could have a day off...
So here I was. I had already been in work since Tuesday and now I was working my Sunday off and would not be getting a break til Friday...I worked a total of 10 days straight with no days off.
It was really tough, but knowing that my friend who was in a bad place at the time was able to have a weekend away made me feel that little bit better and knowing that I was there for someone when no one else would...I spread a little bit of sunshine in my own way, and I hope I've inspired you all to try and do good and spread a little sunshine in life.

Sunshine in old men
Sunshine isn't ageist it can be found in the smile of a child, the infectious giggle of a baby and today I found sunshne in the pride and honor of an elderly man...
While filling theshelves with brussel sprouts I turned and saw a lady looking around as is shes lost and looking for something. I simply asked her "do you need ans help"
Her reply was a nice little tale of how she's a carer for an elderly man who's 94 years old, she does her shopping every week and this week he noticed that the biscuit box he bought this week was half the price compared to the previous week. When he noticed this he sent her back with the difference and asked her to find out if there was a mistake, and if there was told her to pay the difference.
Once I heard this I couldn't help but be in awe,as to how sweet and lovely and on the right path this man was...he went through all that trouble because he didn't want to gain anything he didn't deserve.
This act of goodness made my day.

Sunshine in little kids and Christmas
It's christmas time and the special someone in my life has the sweetest cutest little 8 year old sister who is at the stage where you can't trick her with the usual things anymore...can't tell her "there are fairies in the back-garden" or that babies come from a stork that flies down and delivers little babies to the hospital". Slowly she has begun to lose what makes her a innocent little child. The one thing that is dangling by a thread is her belief in the big guy in red/Santa Claus/ Old St Nicholas.
This year may be her last christmas where she still believes in Santa. So her mother told me in secret that this year she's going to go all out and get one of the boys to get bells late at night on Christmas eve and jingle some bells and early Christmas day before she wakes up get a big footprint cutout and sprinkle talc powder on it so it looks like snow that fell off Santa's boots. She's then going to leave a present wrapped in different paper from the others and says its 'from Santa'.
Hearing all these wonderful ideas made me smile, knowing that she will have a magical Christmas means so much to me and I'm sure it will be a Christmas she wont forget for years to come.
P.s. I would love to hear one of your childhood Christmas memories that stuck with you, feel free to leave a comment below.

Sunshine in laughter
When a big group of people come together, and the mood is light and cheerful it's great when the conversation leads to laughter, the kind that brings tears streaming down your face and a tightening of your stomach as you feel a six pack coming on...
This kind of laughter can happen in the strangest of places...I think that is why this belly laughter stuck out the most to me.
Today while we are sitting around in the intensive care unit we were all having a little chit chat making the time go by, something simply hilarious came out of my ill grandads oxygen covered mouth and we all cracked up laughing.
An unexpected laughter in an unexpected place is just priceless. Let laughter bring sunshine to your life.

Sunshine in comfort
Before I start I would like to apologise for how badly written my previous blog entry was, I was very tired from work but couldn't let my blog followers down and just had to share my little bit of sunshine, so now its edited and a bit easier to understand what happened.
Okay back to today's little ray of sunshine.
When you're needing comfort it's really nice to have someone around to help you in your moment of need.
Today while I was at work I had to use the backstage lift...which is one of those old fashioned lifts where you pull a outer gate and the inner gate in order to go upstairs...
I closed the outer gate and the inner gate then while I was on my way down it stopped. So I pick up the basket and open the inner gate only to find myself staring at a brick wall. I panic and press the buttons, close the door and press the button again hoping that the lift will move again. I ringed the alarm and nothing happened I started freaking out and hyperventilating (I'm borderline claustrophobic). Eventually the door opened and I saw two of my work friends when the door opened. At this point I had teary eyes and breathing heavily.
I really needed a hug and that's what I got. A short bit of comfort when someone needs it the most is a bit of goodness that we can all spread. When you can read it on someones face and you can tell that they're unhappy or upset take a minute of your day and ask them if they are okay.

Sunshine from the kindness of others...edited
Nowadays life has become so dog eat dog, where everyone is out for their own gain. When every ones out for themselves you start to feel alone and in competition with everyone...
When someone shows kindness, you can't help but remember it. When someone offers you a hand when you're at the checkout, that it's so strange you can't help but remember it,it just makes your day. I'm not talking about the person behind the till packing your bag for you. The kindness I'm talking about is when another customer who was served before me saw rushing and rummaging through my bag that she offered to help me pack my stuff.
It gives you a good feeling when someone helps you and when you do try to thank them they simply tell you 'no problem'. It makes you feel like you need to spread the good mood its leaves you with.
It kind of makes you think that you shouldn't wait for someone to show you kindness for you to spread it.

Sunshine in concern
When you're not having the best luck or given the best news having people around you show concern can really make a difference to your day.
Those who follow my previous blogs (which I'm very grateful for) will know that I havn't had the best news on behalf of my grandfather-I thought I'd let you know that he has a lung infection but is doing well-and the little bit of sunshine that makes this news that little bit more bearable is the concern of those around me...
When you have a little cry for help and comfort through a blog/tweet/or change of status to a sad face, having a response from friends and family full of concern makes you feel loved and makes you feel a little better and brings sunshine to your dark day.

Sunshine during a dark hour
You know that you're loved when people even in your life pull through and are with you during a dark hour.
Today my special someone was walking me home when I got a phone call saying that my grandad is in hospital struggling to breathe.
When I told him the news he gave me a hug and tried to calm me down but i couldn't help myself and started crying, something I've never done around him before.
He tried to comfort me with a hug and a kiss but I couldn't help but panic...simply because for some strange reason I kept thinking about him today about how this might be the last time he could be coming over to visit-that maybe he won't be able to make the trip next time or that he might not be with us when I get married-this kind of deja vu meets premonitions freak me out because sometimes they've come true and I'm still panicking that it might come true again...
I know this doesn't feel like my usual blog entries that are all positive...but the ray of sunshine I've found today is that sometimes the people in your life come together to send their love and support for you in your darkest hour.
We all need to appreciate those that are with us and value the precious moments we share with them. To be there for those you love.

Sunshine at a night out
Every once in a while it's nice to have a night out and just let your hair down and just dance.
Let's be honest when people are out drinking there is the often the spilled drinks the empty cups littering the floor scattered around the place...and
Let's not forget the people that had a little bit too much to drink who keep falling over.
The Iittle bit of sunshine that I've found on my night out is that in a moment of need people pull together to help out a fallen comrade...no matter how bad the other people around were, they still offered as much help as they could to the girl who fell flat on her face. It just shows that you can always try and help people.

Sunshine in universal languages
There has always been the saying that actions speak louder than words... I couldn't agree more.
When you watch a film in your own language then you can understand all the words and follow what's going on and the story is pretty clear to you.
What I realised today is that sometimes actions do speak louder than words and you can still follow the story-well just about...
Those that have followed my blog will know that my grandparents are visiting me this month and staying with me...they don't speak a word of English so when we're watching films on the telly we try and translate for them as the films goes along...but as the films goes by I realise that they are the ones that are telling us the story line which they understood from the body language and the actions of the actors
and the music in the background
Actions speak louder than words and in films you can normally tell from the visual effects the way that the camera zooms in on certain things how you can suddenly hear really tense music in the background when something bad is going to happen...films use more than just words they use all the other senses too.
I know this may not seem like my usual blog but sometimes when your explaining to your grandad yeah this is what happening in the film and he corrects you and says yeah I think he's going to be the killer...and then moments later the story line unfolds and you find out it really was that guy I was left speechless - how did he realise it before me when he can't understand the words.
It just made me smile how he was following the story better than me and how the actions are universal.

Sunshine in family
There are some things that you see in life that make you smile and realise how much love there is in a family unit...
Today the family are all together sitting in the living room there's a total of three generations watching a bit of telly when I witnessed something truly blessed...
My mum has lay down on the sofa and fallen asleep, once we saw this my gran got up and got a blanket and covered her up so she wouldn't get cold...It made me realise that no matter how old you get you will always be your mums little baby and they will always look after you...
Love between family and the bonds you have will never break...we should all be grateful for the family we have around us and should never take them for granted.

Sunshine in the politeness
Politeness... a simple 'please' a 'thank you' and possibly an 'excuse me'. All very simple words but they seem to be disappearing these days...Just hearing them every once in a while can go a really long way.
I've got to admit I'm still pretty new to the whole working full time and being at work for 8 hours. It just seems to be tiring me out. This week I've had a Monday to Friday week and it's soo hard that when I'm on the ti ls for and hour or been rummaging through a fridge full of potatoes, when I hear a simple, 'could you be so kind as to show me where I could find the lemonade please'
When I heard that I must say I was pretty speechless, and it sounds really sad but it did brighten up my day and made me realise that a 'please' a 'thank you' a 'your welcome' can really make your day and spread a little sunshine.
So please make that little bit of an effort to be polite and spread some sunshine.

Sunshine from abroad
Today I woke up early to tidy up my room and get it all nice and lovely....because there's some news which has put a massive smile on my face and made my whole month...
Today my grandparents are coming from abroad to stay with me for 3 weeks
I'm so happy and full of joy that they're coming because it's been a year since we last saw each other....sometimes the news that you'll get the chance to see someone that you've missed and truly love can make your day and bring a little ray of sunshine to your life.

Sunshine in faces
We all know that once you get into a routine that you slowly start to recognise faces and the people that you see during your day...
As some of you may know I've recently started working now in a retail store in the UK...It's mainly well known for the for customer service we provide, which pretty much means that I spend most of my day talking to people when I'm on the tills or having a little chat with them as I show them to the aisle they were looking for....
Spending time with lots of different people on a daily basis has led me to recognise a few of the familiar faces...there are the lovely elderly ladies who come int the same time every Thursday to have little shop around and buy 4 apples and spend a lifetime picking which pear they want...the man who comes in practically every day asking for white nectarines, and the busy men and women on their lunch breaks rushing to get their food and leave.
You hear their stories and how their day went and all the familiar faces makes work feel like a great place to socialise and spend my day.
Just seeing a familiar face and being asked "how your day?" by a customer makes me feel that little bit less tired and brings a little ray of sunshine to my day, and hopefully you can all stop and realise the little routines of your own and others and realise the familar faces of the people walking by and I hope it can bring a little sunshine into your day too.

Sunshine in the time of year
Times have been really busy and it's all caused by the time of year and the festivities that are coming all too quickly and all at once
I'd like to apologise for the lack of posting but the silver lining in my day is looking at my stats and seeing that my alltime views are 100
But back to the blog and the sunshine I want to share with all of you today. This time of year brings sunshine in the form of festive cheer.
My current workplace has been going through a transformation lately...there's orange everywhere with pumpkins to carve and my favourite being the pumpkin pinyatas full of candy and sweets....
It doesn't stop there because in my store Christmas came early....it's mid October and we have christmas pudding and brandy butter mince pies and double cream snowflake cupcakes and the christmas trees up and looking fabulous.
Just having all these festive things around and the clash between halloween skulls and christmas snowmen just makes you smile.
Hopefully everyone can find a little bit of festive cheer whether it's dressing up for halloween or munching on a mince pie, I hope you all smile and have a little bit of sunshine in your day.

Sunshine at work continued
Work can get tiring and retail jobs where you stock, restock, check then recheck your shelves can get mighty boring mighty fast but the little things you see and hear can make your day...
With our store at a certain time of day we start to reduce the food and sell it that little bit cheaper and as you can probably work out that some people get greedy and it all gets a little tense...
Today a customer pretty much filled her basket with majority of the reduced items....you may ask how can this possibly make you smile and brighten up your day and show the goodness in the world?
A rather elderly woman looked at the now reduction free shelf and looks down at the woman who took all the deserts and says,
"Is there any left for me?" then once the woman walked off away to the tils she whispered "I can't believe she took all the deserts"
This is when I looked back and saw a random act of kindness, another woman who had overheard this conversation went into her trolley and took out one of the special offer goods she found and gave it to the elderly woman.
When people give up a little bit of their own joy to spread a little bit to others makes me feel like there is still good in the world it brightened my day at work.

Sunshine at work
It is day 130 of my gap year and I just started my first day at work...it's a rather simple retail job as a customer assistant, which doesn't really require a degree but its only temporary for work experience and a little bit of money during my job searching.
This is the same shop I worked at 2 years ago so I was surrounded by familiar faces and a few fresh faces...
Being accepted into the group so easily made my day. All the new people were talking to me like they've know me for years with the others from the old days welcoming me back to work like it was only yesterday I left work.
The kindness and openness that people display makes me smile and brightened my day. Whether you are the new person being welcomed or the person doing the greeting...just stop and think about how much it brighten someones day. Spread the sunshine.

Sunshine at the party
I still havent gotten any comments on what makes everyone else smile, but I will not let it dampen my spirit...because that's what having a little ray of sunshine in your life is all about...Always smile and look on the brighter side of life.
The past few days have been spent planning and preparing for a surprise birthday party. I realised that sunshine can be found in crowds...when everyone gets together for a birthday party and when conversations go to weird and wonderful places.
In parties there is always the separation of the party into groups. The younger birthday crowd were running up and down the stairs and playing don't let the ball hit the ground (timeless classic). The birthday boy and his friends were in the garden talking about all sorts of topics, with the older adults being upstairs in the sitting room watching x-factor...
What made me smile was that everyone had a place even in the crowd and that no one was alone ...some say that yeah what about the odd people out that don't know anyone at the party?
Well here's the thing. In those situations all the people that are left out normally find eachother and have something in common and group up together and talk about how differene they are to the rest of the group...
Bottom line no-one is truly alone and we all have a place in life.

Sunshine in the kitchen
Me and my big mouth have gotten me into numerous tight spots...and once again it has done it again...
My boyfriends younger brother is having his 21st birthday so I've said I would help with the cooking. Last night they called me and said that the aunt making borek won't be able to go out and buy the ingredients and make it - my big mouth steps in - I offer to make it as well as the filo rolls I'm already making...
So here I am in an awkward predicament simply because I don't know how to make borek and yet I am the one they are relying on to make it....
Thankfully this is where the internet and good friends step in.
After a quick pop round to the nearest Turkish shop to get ingredients and a short browse on the internet me and my friend have managed to make a spinach and feta cheese borek (a lighter version of a lasagna made with pastry instead of pasta), which tastes pretty good if I must say so myself...
Here's a little snap of the borek I made earlier (I sound like a Blue Peter presenter)

Sunshine at work
This has turned out to be one of those days, which are rather pivotal and a sudden change to the way life from now on will be....
Today I had a job interview and to my utter joy I got the job.
I've previously worked at this supermarket and I know most of the people there so it's more me returning to the workplace...but this time it is a bit different.
The thing is that on the last day of work 2 years ago my now boyfriend asked me out...so I've always been in and out of the store to chit chat with him and everyone at work.
This time I'm going to be working with may boyfriend in the store....to add to that I will be wotking full time for the first time.
Well my little ray of sunshine from this was that as I walked into the store spreading the news, people greeted me with smiles and joy on their faces when they heard the news.
Sometimes the joy of others who are happy to hear the good news can brighten your day.

Sunshine talking with old friends
Rays of sunshine can be found all the time it doesn't always have to be something big or epic...they don't always have to be things that are planned sometimes yhey can simply be sontaneous and of the blue...
Sunshne can be simply catching up with a friend...Life is so fast paced that you ofte lose touch with all of yoir friends...
You can't always find the time to be with your friends and sometimes the distance between where you live can really be a obstacle between you.
Today out of the blue I found out my friend who I havn't seen in months was having a day off and we decided to meet.
The day was great...we went to a mexican restarount called Chillango (a mexican version of Subway) where we scoffed down a burrito, talked for hours, watched others come and go as we sat and enjoyed our refillable Coca Cola.
Days like these are unforgettable and priceless and bring you joy and a smile on your face.

Sunshine on the motorway
The sun came out today and all I could think was
'Sunshine on the beach!!'
We all got ready in a matter of minutes packing crisps, rice cakes and a few bars of chocolate, took the cooler out from under the stairs and filled it with cans of coca cola and rammed it into the car...
Me and the family were in the car with high spirits and listening to the radio, by this point we had reached the motorway/highway/auto band.
The weather was starting to rise...so was every ones tempers so people started switching lanes the traffic jam was building up and you'd hear the occasional curses as they whizz past...
Dad kept his head clear and being the gentleman that he is decided to let this man pass and gave him way on the motorway...at the time I hadn't noticed, a little time went by and as I looked out my window I saw someone giving my car a thumbs up I instinctively smiled and with a puzzled look went 'dad...someone just given us a thumbs up how nice'
Dad replied with 'it's because I gave him way a while back'
I know this seems rather simple and not really worth smiling about, but having a guy remember your car half way down the motorway once we managed to catch up with him and for him to show his appreciation was just nice to see.
A little bit of appreciation goes a long way

Sunshine in the underground
Some say that chivalry is dead...you don't always witness it, but on the rare occasions that you do, it always makes you smile
Today was one of those days when everything seems to be going wrong...
The underground tube stations near my house were closed so I got on a bus to get to the next nearest station...when I got there that station was closed off too. I was already in a rush to meet up with someone and I was now running extremely late and beginning to get agitated-as one does in these situations-anyway...so I finally get to a train station that's working...
While I was on my bus listening to my iPod I realised that there was a father holding his baby in his arms...to my surprise no one else noticed or tried to get up. Without hesitation I got up and gave him my seat...
So here I was in a crowded bus wearing my favourite pair of heels with a water bottle in one hand, my mobile phone in the other, which is also trying to hold onto the subway rail which I can barely reach above my head....this is when it happened...A man that was sitting next to me in the train got up and gave me his seat
Chivalry isn't dead, it's still here
This simple gesture made me smile and made my day that little bit more bearable
Those that do follow me, occasionally pop in and have a read please keep in mind the difference a little bit of chivalry and kindness can make to a person and their day

Sunshine in different languages
Sunshine doesn't always need to be in English sometimes you can just tell from the facial expressions and the hand gestures...
After one of the numerous Asian weddings I've been to in recent years, I found myself sitting in the sitting room surrounded by those I consider my second family. As they all went along their usual post wedding story telling and family reunion chats the language slowly went from english back to speaking Bengali. Recently I've gotten accustomed to the way they talk....sitting in the sitting room I found myself naturally watching people and their expressions intently following the conversation....
It was only when my best mate points out to me why are you watching everyone it's not like you understand what they're saying....it was only then that I realised that though you don't understand the language you're still able to follow conversation...because essentially we all have similar facial expressions and hand gestures even though I didn't know the language I still knew when I was being talked about when to laugh and what was going on
Life doesn't always need to be in the and language for you to smile and know what's happening
Ps here is just a little snapshot of the henna tattoo they did for me
Hope it makes you smile

Sunshine every step of the way
Sunshine may have always been there all the time but it takes you a while to notice it...you need to step back and realise that it's been there every step of the way....
I have a best friend who I've had since nursery (kindergarten)they've been with me every step of the way, been to every birthday, every day at school and in all my special memories...
Sitting at her aunties wedding surrounded by all her family...all these familiar faces I've gotten to know over the years made me realise that they have become like family to me too.
That moment when you realise your family has grown and that you fit into their lives as much as they fit into yours, is special and puts a smile on your face and fills you with an immense amount of joy
Sometimes you take those around you for granted and don't realise the family that you have around you every step of the way.

Sunshine ontop of cars
Okay this does sound like a funny title for a place to find a little ray of sunshine....but bare with me
Sometimes you can find that little ray of sunshine on your journey home.whether it be round the corner ot along your street..
Normally I find my little ray of sunshine lazing around ontop of cars along my road....the little bit of sunshine is this fat cat that happens to always be found ontop of the most expensive car along the road...
The nice cars come and go but the fat cat still seems to pick the most expensive car along the road
I managed to get a picture of the car while it was on its break from carsitting
hopefully this would put a smile on your face and make you realise all the little things on your way home.

Sunshine in my Blackberry
I adore my mobile phone, I have a Blackberry and with it comes all these interesting apps but that's not what makes me smile....
what makes me smile is the app that tells me who it is that's calling or texting me.....for example when my parents text or call me the little light on my phone flashes blue or green depending if it's mum or dad
But it's the purple light that puts a smile on my face and sometimes makes me giggle like a little school girl.
Those of you who have been following my previous blogs will know that I have a boyfriends now who I love and adore and his caller ID is purple...
Now it's gotten to the point that, when my family see my face light up they don't bother to ask why anymore, they just know its him....
My point being....sometimes it can be the littlest thing like a little purple flashing light on your phone that puts a smile on your face and makes you giggle like a little school girl....or that one special person in your life that brings a little sunshine to your life....
I hope that we all have a loved one who puts a smile on our faces just by letting us know they are thinking of us

Sunshine in the little things
Finally managed to find the time to get onto a laptop and post my latest bit of sunshine....
Today I woke up to find lovely comments about the little butterfly - which is still hanging out around my garden. So firstly I would like to say thank you for the lovely comments they have become a little ray of sunshine and put a smile on my face....
Sometimes you don't always have big things in life to brighten up your day...you can't always find big things in your day to day life and you have to focus on the little things...

Sunshine outside my door
Today as I left my house the sunshine was shining through the clouds and the weather was picking up...something really unexpected considering that the past few days have been dull and dreary with windy and showers....
As I locked my door behind me I saw the nicest butterfly, something I haven't seen in a while...you don't normally see butterflies very often or pretty colourful ones for that matter...
Hopefully once I find the cable for my phone I will upload the picture I took of it...It may be something small and insignificant for some but it's something that made me smile and hopefully will do the same for you too

Sunshine in the streets of London
There are some days where you don't always find something to smile about...you can't always find it.
Sometimes it really is the littlest thing...the strangest thing that shouldn't make you smile sometimes just does....
Today walking back from from the local shopping centre with my hands full of bags someone was walking towards me on the busy street and said something as he walked past....I couldn't quite makes out what he said but sounded like 'nice to see you'...
I turn my head round and he's smiling at me with a look of recognition in his eyes as if we've known eachother for years....
How strange I couldnt help but smile back too. The whole way home I just couldn't work out if I knew this guy, or if he thought I was someone he knew. Well the story goes I walked the whole way home with a puzzled smile on my face.

Sunshine from abroad
I would never wish bad health on anyone because I've seen the sadness it brings to those affected. My little cousin from back home was diagnosed with lukemia last year...
Today him and his family are back for hopefully what is his last appointment
I haven't seen him for last 4 months and what put a smile on my face is how much better he looks. He has colour in his face, all his hair has grown back and he has that sparkle in his eyes which he has lost during treatments....
Seeing someone beat an illness and come out the other side smiling it's truly amazing.
I know there are many that have not been as fortunate to beat illnesses such as cancer but the sunshine through the clouds, is those that haven't let it drown their spirits and they still manage to smile

Sunshine over the phone
Sometimes sunshine can come from the simple words that are uttered by a loved one...the confessions made late at night over the phone...
Today while on the phone with my boyfriend we were talking about how much we miss each other when we haven't seen each other for over a week, when he said the sweetest thing....
He told me how sometimes when he really misses me he sees me in his dreams.....and then went on to confess that I'm pretty much in all of his dreams (even if I'm not in the main role)
To some, this may confession may not mean much and some may not understand how that could make me grin from ear to ear....
The truth is my boyfriend is a very emotionally closed off macho man who talks about football films....so for him to confess something like this really makes my day and puts a smile on my face.
well hopefully this made you smile or may remind you of a time when a little confession put a grin on your face.

Sunshine in my wardrobe
Today was spent doing a big spring clean day...well autumn clean out
Everything from my wardrobe came out and was sorted into winter, summer and autumn clothes well long story short - it took me ages to do.
But as always I managed to find something to smile about....
Today it was finding my old work uniform
Old uniform might not be much to smile about but let me give you the history behind it....that was 2 years ago and I've changed soo much since then - I've cut my hair got rid of my glasses and just changed my appearance completely.
I put on my baggy polo top and couldn't help but giggle at how funny I looked and how much I've changed since then.
Sometimes it takes something from the past to show how much you've changed and how much you've grown into a better person and makes you smile

Sunshine on the dancefloor
Last night I had a small reunion with two of my old friends from secondary school(high school). We had decided on having a girly nite out on the town (before anyone freaks out I'm 21 and completely legal).....
Sometimes sunshine can be found in the comfort that even though you may be distant from your friends you don't always lose that bond you had all those years ago. Little things like this make me smile...
I havn't been in contact with these girls for the past 5 years but we still seem to talk like we've been together since the last day of school....
Maybe you might find a little ray of sunshine by simply contacting a long lost friend

Sunshine on cakes
During my usual Blog surfing I came across just about the sweetest (quite literally) blog I've seen in a while.
When you see people with amazing imagination and creative skills being used in a productive way makes me all warm inside...
The blog I saw was called 'Wonderfully Delicious' http://christyscutiecakes.blogspot.com/ All the beautifully made cakes for special occasions made me all warm and fuzzy inside.Hopefully they do the same for all of you.

Sunshine in the sink
Have you ever just been going about your day and then the simplest of smells overtakes your mind and your taken back to simpler times and transported back to childhood memories...
While I was washing the dishes the smell of Original Fairy washing up liquid took me back to when I was younger.
We all remember using mums washing up liquid and refilling you bubble blowing pot....always putting soo much liquid to make the bubbles bigger but it always went gloopy instead and youd be covered in green washing up liquid.
Just the smell of Fairy liquid made me smile and was the little ray of sunshine I needed to brighten up my day and make washing the dishes that little bit more bearable.
